New Year, New Start

Wow.  So it's been more than a year that I've taken off from blogging.  Lots of knitting done in that time, and lots of things learned.  This is the second day of 2015; sheesh, it always takes a while to get used to putting that new year down, and then you turn around and its time for a new one again.

So here's a wrap-up of my projects from the last year, in no particular order:
29 completed, documented projects.

4 adult sweaters
1 baby sweater
7 shawls/scarves
5 cowls
5 hats
5 pairs of socks
5 toys
1 pair of mittens
3+ dishcloths

doesn't seem like a whole lot, does it?  Well, I guess 4 adult sweaters is good.   Here are my favorites:

This was the Winter Dragonflies Jumper by Joji Locatelli that I made early in the year.  It was a lot of lace, but well worth it.  I would seriously consider making this again, even making it for someone else because the stretchy lace makes it so easy to fit-no real shaping required.  I shortened the sleeves and changed the neckline, which I would do differently also.  The yarn was amazing!  So soft and beautiful and lovely against the skin, just had to be a little careful when knitting because it was slick.  I'm hoping to make matching wristlets with the leftover yarn in the coming year.

This was my other favorite knit.  It turned out beautifully.  I've decided that I'm going to do one epic lace shawl about once a year.  I've already got this year's planned out.  Now this yarn was a teeny bit splitty, but I really wanted a merino silk blend, so I went with it,  Next time I might try a different one, but the colorway was amazing.

Finally, I thought I'd mention this one.  I love the way it turned out, but it was a tribute to sticking it out.  Wow, it took forever, and I do NOT like knitting with that yarn.  It is super cute though, and I wish I had a picture of my niece in it.

Back tomorrow with my Knitting Goals for 2015.  What are your favorite knits from 2014?
